The Story of Two Brothers Battling The Same Cancer
Today, the Tim Tebow Foundation released never-before-seen footage Inside a W15H with Tim Tebow. The video, which consists of rarely publicized moments, shares the inspiring story of two brothers, Preston and Parker, as their dream to meet Tim Tebow comes true. In February of 2016, Parker Jackson was diagnosed with pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer, a genetic form of cancer that his father was also battling. Preston, not wanting his younger brother to go through the battle alone, bravely prayed that he, too, would be diagnosed with cancer.
Just six-weeks later, Preston’s prayer was answered when he received the news that he had the same cancer.
The video highlights Preston and Parker’s “two-of-a-kind” W15H experience in Opelika, Alabama, where they attended the Georgia vs. Auburn football game. Preston and Parker’s journey to meet Tim began with a simple wish and referral from Dream on 3, and like all Tim Tebow Foundation W15H experiences, became a completely customized trip full of exciting surprises.
For two days and three nights, Preston, Parker and their family were treated to luxury accommodations, upscale dining, surprises at every turn, and of course, one-on-one time with Tim Tebow.
Preston and Parker’s W15H experience started on Thursday, November 9, when they were surprised with a private jet ride to Opelika, Alabama. The fun continued when they checked into their four-star hotel and were welcomed like VIPs.
Friday was a full day of excitement as Preston and Parker had a private surprise lunch with Tim, where they shared more of their story with Tim and foundation staff, received personalized gifts and were prayed over. Preston and Parker were then surprised with a visit to an Escape Room where they tested their detective skills to try to break free.
Early on in discussing the W15H with Preston and Parker, TTF was told that one of their ultimate dreams was to play catch with Tim on the field. Little did they know that on Friday night, while they were on a behind-the-scenes stadium tour of Auburn’s athletic facilities, Tim Tebow would once again surprise them on the Auburn football field where they had a chance to throw the football, talk and just hang out.
Their W15H experience concluded on Saturday at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Preston and Parker were VIP guests on the set of ESPN’s SEC Nation where they received behind-the-scenes access. Following SEC Nation, Preston and Parker were surprised with sideline access to the highlight matchup of Georgia and Auburn.
“One of the greatest gifts is that TTF is able to meet so many inspiring kids through our W15H program. Preston and Parker are two amazing brothers who are fighting a rare form of cancer, but are doing it with so much courage and passion! We set out to bless our W15H kids, but every time we are also blessed beyond imagination by their stories and perseverance,” shared Tim Tebow, Founder and Chairman of the Tim Tebow Foundation.
