If They Only Had A Kicker

Bucs Lose On Monday Night 19-14

Brady threw for 303 yards and one touchdown, and the Patriots held off the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 19-14 to rebound from a last-second loss that left them searching for answers to defensive woes. Tampa Bay was THIS close to sending the Patriots back to New England with a loss.

The Buc’s Defense was INSANE. 3 Sacks and a forced fumble on Brady with 1 interception. Doug Martin returned to pre-suspension form going for 74 yards on 13 carries. Jameis Winston was 26/46 for 319 yards and No Picks.

Neither of Brady’s turnovers led to points for the Bucs (2-2), who were was unable to do much offensively until the fourth quarter, when their comeback bid was hindered by missed field goals.

The Difference in the game… KICKING.

Entering tonight’s game, Nick Folk was 245-301. Then THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL HAPPENED. 0-3!

The Buccaneers are unrivaled with their recent run of kicking woes. Dating back to the beginning of last season, the team has converted just 28 of 42 field goal attempts. No other team has more than 10 misses, according to NFL Media research.

Folk secured the job in training camp when the team chose to move on from Aguayo after just one year. But his struggles have left a 2-2 Buccaneers team with little room for error or recourse in close games.

“These last two weeks haven’t been exactly what we’re looking for, and of course Nick would be the first to admit it,” Koetter said. “But it’s a team game, and we had other opportunities.”
