In Order To Make A Difference You Need To Be Knowledgeable

Interested in learning about Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office? Twice a year we offer Jacksonville citizens an opportunity to learn about JSO – up close and personal and your next chance is coming up.

There are two Citizen’s Academy sessions held each year. The class meets from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m., once a week for 12 weeks (except on holidays) and is taught by JSO employees.  The Fall 2017 Class starts Thursday, September 7, 2017 and is scheduled to graduate Thursday, December 7, 2017.

 

During the 12-week course, citizens learn how each division in the agency operates including each specialized JSO units, such as the Bomb SquadNarcotics and the SWAT Team. They also tour the Pre-Trial Detention FacilityMontgomery Correctional Center and the firing range.
