Mobile (11-14) took a 2-0 lead against Jumbo Shrimp left-hander Mike Kickham in the second inning. BayBears right fielder Michael Hermosillo singled and later scored on a passed ball, and center fielder Zach Welz hit an RBI double. Jumbo Shrimp left fielder Alex Glenn kept the BayBears from extending the lead by robbing designated hitter Zach Houchins of a potential fourth-inning, two-run home run. Then in the bottom of the inning, Glenn hooked his first home run of the season for a grand slam down the right-field line, giving Jacksonville (11-14) a 4-2 lead. The next batter, first baseman Taylor Ard, followed with a solo home run to left field to make it 5-2. After BayBears right-hander Jake Jewell allowed the first seven batters of the fourth inning to reach base, right-hander John Fitzsimmons retired two batters before three straight RBI singles by Anderson, right fielder John Norwood, and designated hitter David Vidal for an 8-2 lead.

Jacksonville shortstop Alex Yarbrough extended the lead with a fifth-inning RBI triple against Fitzsimmons, and Norwood homered for a third straight day in the sixth inning against right-hander Justin Anderson for a 10-2 Jacksonville lead. The BayBears roared back for the lead with a four-run seventh inning and five-run eighth inning. Catcher Jose Briceno hit a seventh-inning grand slam off right-hander Chris Mazza to make it 10-6 and added a game-tying two-run single in the eighth inning off right-hander Tyler Kinley. Hermosillo’s RBI triple gave Mobile an 11-10 lead before Anderson’s eighth-inning homer – the sixth and final one of the game for the two teams – tied the game, 11-11.

Left-hander Victor Payano (1-1) fanned all three batters in the top of the ninth. In the bottom half, second baseman Yefri Perez drew a two-out walk from right-hander Ronnie Muck (0-2) and scored on Anderson’s double to left-center field.
